Výzkumný Ústav Železniční, a.s. (VUZ) has published its 2022 annual report on its website at vuz.ys-beta.cz. Despite the market uncertainty, VUZ has managed to achieve excellent economic results and expand its service portfolio with new innovative products. The company aims to provide its customers with comprehensive services and be a reliable partner not only in the traditional segments, such as railway testing and certification, but also in newly emerging areas that play an increasingly important role for both VUZ and its clients: ESG, ISO, ECM and others.

For VUZ, 2022 was a significant year not only in terms of economic indicators, but also because the company took several crucial steps towards the sustainability of its activities. Last year, VUZ achieved a 63% reduction of its carbon footprint and received a B- CDP Score within the Carbon Disclosure Project. Thanks to that, it has become one of the leaders in the rail industry and the engineering sector in the CEE region.

“VUZ has been gradually fulfilling its ambition to be the ESC and sustainable business innovator not only in the rail transport segment. We see corporate social responsibility as an inseparable part of our business and I am glad that we can support our customers in similar efforts with new services, such as preparation for the ESG Report, or carbon footprint calculation,” said Ing. Martin Bělčík, Chairman of the Board and General Director of VUZ.

“Despite our excellent results, however, we are not resting on our laurels, and we keep introducing new products, such as cyber security testing of vehicles, ISO management system certification, ECM audit and certification or production rationalisation. All this in the context of ESG, so that we are ready to guide the widest possible range of our customers through future challenges, and again – not only in the rail sector,” adds M. Bělčík.
