Testing of Safety Barriers

Construction work on the track requires maximum safety, which is also ensured by safety barriers. The ČSN EN 16704 standard, under which the tests are performed, defines procedures for verifying their mechanical properties and safety in use. The goal is to demonstrate that the barriers can withstand the expected loads without compromising their function or endangering the user.

What is tested:

  • Safety barriers

Options and benefits:

  • Static stability tests: A defined force (both horizontal and vertical) is applied to the barrier at critical points. Deformation and any structural failure are monitored. No permanent deformation may occur after the load is removed.
  • Vibration test: It is performed by immediately releasing the load. The structure’s ability to absorb energy within a defined time frame, with a tolerance for transverse vibrations, is monitored.
  • Measurement of electrical resistance on vertical and horizontal sections.
  • Vibration text: in accordance with EN 50125-3:2003, 4.13.1 in vertical, transverse, and longitudinal axes.
