Today, VUZ was the first in the Czech Republic to issue a certificate as a DeBo, i.e. a person designated to assess compliance with national regulations.
With the onset of the Fourth Railway Package, in order to approve vehicles for operation on national and regional railways in the Czech Republic, it is necessary to undergo an assessment by a body accredited by ČIA and authorized by UNMZ as DeBo - instead of the previously used so-called legal entity authorized by Department for Transport.
VUZ has successfully passed this demanding process as the only entity so far and thus offers its comprehensive services to railway car manufacturers. It also remains a legal entity for cases where, for example, approval is required only for spur lines.
