Výzkumný Ústav Železniční, a.s. (VUZ) is testing the first complete trainset manufactured by Škoda Transportation for the Warsaw Metro in the VUZ Test Centre in Velim. After the prescribed initial tests are performed and running characteristics and brakes are verified, the basic activation of the vehicle will be carried out. Additional tests will be performed in the Prague Metro and in the Warsaw Metro facilities.

„Testing of the Warsaw Metro units is a prestigious project to us: it proves our technical and professional competence and readiness to carry out this kind of projects not only in terms of infrastructure but also our Test Laboratory and certification. It is naturally our aim to participate also in the project of new vehicles for the Prague Metro, as well as to test and approve for example trams, if it is allowed by the technical parameters of the vehicle. With this objective in mind, we are currently working to extend the scope of accredited tests and strengthen our expert team within the Test Laboratory,” Martin Bělčík, Chairman of the Board and General Director, Výzkumný Ústav Železniční, a.s. said.
